Christina Ricci was born in Santa Monica, CA. to parents Ralph and Sarah Ricci. They had 4 children Christina being the youngest of the family. She spent most of her childhood days with her dad, a psychiatrist, in Montclair, New Jersey growing up. She thinks of her family as disfunctional and crazy, and arguments were common place. Both her mother and father are of Italian descent and raised they're 4 children in the suburbs of Montclair, New Jersey. They have 3 other children Rafael, Dante and a sister Pia before Christina was born. Her father, before becoming a lawyer, was a psychiatrist who specialized in shrieking therapy. While growing up, Christina could hear the therapies through the vents in her room, and would act them out in front her mother. She was nicknamed "Squant" by her siblings because of a childhood fascination with the Native American hero Squanto, who helped the first European settlers in America.

At seven years old Christina is discovered at Edgemont Elementary School, performing in a school play "12 Days of Christmas." All Christina syas she remembers about the day she was discovered was "really having to go pee." She was 7 years old at the time and she landed several commercials after the performance. She finally got her first breakout movie role at 9 years old in Richard Benjamin's "Mermaids" (1990), co-starring with Cher and Winona Ryder. Since filming Cher and Christina became close friends from the start and have been ever since. The friendship that developed between Christina and Cher still lasts, she often visits Cher in her New York apartment. She later appears in Cher's "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)".

The mainstream film role of Wednesday Adams in "The Addams Family" movie shortly followed in 1991, along with a cameo in a lesser know flick "The Hard Way as Bonnie. In 1993 she returns "Addams Family Values" , and practically establishes her as a child star. This role brought much attention from audiences and hollywood producers alike. More importantly it gave her a first starring film role in "Casper", blostering her young career. She will later receive a young actors award for her role in Casper 1995.

After filming "The Addams Family", sadly her parents seperate in 1993 then divorce by 1994. Christina remains close with her mother, saying "We've gone through a lot of stuff, you know, and I think we're pretty close." However, since the divorce, Christina hasn't spoken with her father. Which most likely means that her father cheated on her mother resulting in their eventual separation and subsequent divorce. The summer after filming "Casper" she turned 15, the family then moved to Manhattan where Christina attended a private school. It is unknown whether Christina completed high school or not. She has never had any formal acting training but has appeared in films since 1989 when she was only 9 years old.

She has been unfairly turned down for many A list movie roles including Jurassic Park, Little Women, Titanic (as Rose), Lolita (as Lolita), Batman & Robin, and Romeo + Juliet (as Juliet). Christina auditioned for the role of Young Amy in Little Women (1994) and also for the Claudia role in "Interview with the Vampire": The Vampire Chronicles (1994). Both roles went to boney assed hottie Kirsten Dunst instead. She did land a role in the TV movie special "Bastard Out of Carolina" in 1996 as the young daughter Dee Dee and another film role in "That Darn Cat" but her career definately seemed in a transition period at the time as she transitioned to young adult roles in film.

Christina always likes to keep her personal life well, personal, as you don't see her in public showcasing trophy boyfreinds. When she is out in public attending events or premieres she certainly shows her own sexy style and fills out a slinky designer dress magnificently. She has also built a reputation of sorts and frequently appears in some revealling sheer see thru outfits. She claims she never reads articles or reveiws about her movies and lives life like nothing is happening. The girl once labeled the "weird girl" in Hollywood is actually more normal compared to most of the pop tart actresses you see today. She remains grounded in her everyday life and doesn't prefer to live the starlet fastlane lifestyle.

Christina stuggles early to break away from the little girl roles in film. She stays busy however developing her acting reputation with roles in Indy films instead. The late sucess of "Pulp Fiction" had proven that independant movies were just as good as main stream films, if not always better. The first of these was The Ice Storm in 1997 appearing as Wendy Hood the sexually curious 70's teenage girl next door. The film boasted an all star cast including Sigorny Weaver and Kevin Klein and to much critical acclaim was one of the best movies of the year.
In Buffalo '66 1997 she starred as Layla, another weird character that became a willing kidnap victim to a newly paroled prison inmate. In Pecker 1998 she portrays Shelley, the girlfriend of a Baltimore sandwich shop employee becomes an overnight photographer sensation. Then later in another Indy film Desert Blue in 1998 as Ely Jackson who like to experiment with dynamite for fun. Most notable in 1998 she appears in the indy film The Opposite of Sex playing a wayward 16 year old Louisiana girl who visits her gay brother and seduces then streals his boyfreind, oh and by the way she ends up pregnant.

That year she meets Johnny Depp and they end up dating for a short time. Later she ends up in 2 of his films in his pet out of control bizarre project flick in Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas in 1998 and in the blockbuster film "Sleepy Hollow" in 1999 she dazzles as the victorian damsel in distress.

She's got that sexy innocent look that seems to always lead to the same lost teenager type characters. Her brief relationship with Johnny Depp prolly helped bolster her success as this point but the relationship ended shortly after the film premeire of Sleepy Hollow for unknown reasons. This film does manager to break her little girl image but never shatters it completely. In interviews Christina had stated that she only has like 3 freinds. Her best friend is actress Gaby Hoffmann. They appear together in the film "200 Cigarettes" in 1999.

Christina still tends to stick to independent films, mostly because she actually wants to act in roles that challenge or interest her as an actrress. She is a fearless and talented actress but is a very shy and self concious person when the camera is off and especially in her everyday life. "For years, I hated myself. I covered the mirrors in my house. I literally couldn't have a mirror in my room. I still can't sit in a restaurant or someplace where I can catch my reflection. I get so paranoid." This is more than likely a result of her being exposed to the creepiest hollywood excutives at such a young age. On screen her presence is anything but shy and reserved as she puts everything into her characters and seems to have no hang ups about nudity or sexual drama in film.

Strangely the movie in which she bares all in is "Prozac Nation" which was completed early in 2001 by Miramax pictures but wasn't released for years. For her first nude scene she requested a closed set and had co-star Michelle Williams present to ensure that she did everything properly. They were roommates whilst filming in 2000 and were close freinds. The film however was shelved for 4 years for some mysterious reason. In 2005 leadership within Miramax has changed and finally "Prozac Nation" is released after almost 5 years in moth balls. Based on the best selling novel, set in the mid-1980's before the prevalence of anti-depressants, it follows a young student woman's bout with depression during her first year at Harvard. The film explores this generation's struggle to navigate the effects of divorce, drugs, sex, an overbearing mother and the dangers of the drug Prozac.

Christina Ricci's trademark as a dark edgy actress made her a natural for the film Monster. As in films like "I Love your Work" but especially the blockbuster award winner "Monster" starring with Charlize Theron who won the academy Award in 2003, a film which depicts a warped love affair between Christina and Charlize as lesbian lovers. She also works with woody Allen in Anything Else as the lovely Amanda shortly here after.

Christina's new horror movie "Cursed" is in theaters in 2005. Although it received luke warm box office sales and reveiws, it did star hottie Chirstina Ricci. Due mostly to a weak story line, it really has a great opening hook. She looks as sexy as ever and has too many projects lined up.

Newest films are "Penelope" with Reese Witherspoon, and "The White Rose" with Liam Neeson, all for 2006. Late in 2007 "Home of the Brave" and she will also appear in a film with famed gangster rapper 50 Cent.

Spanning so many characters she has proven to be as talented as any actress in Hollywood. Acting for almost 20 years now, she has appeared in close to 50 films. At age 26 (2006) she still looks more like shes 19. With a long career still ahead of her a burning question still remains. Will she win the elusive and ultimate reward for actors, the Academy Award ? You can almost bet on it ! Check Out Christina's badgirl movie Black Snake Moan with Sam Jackson in 2007. She says she's really excited about this film. Which is her most sexually riske' role yet. In July 2007 Christina is working in Germany filming the new "Speed Racer" Movie Christina will play Speeds girlfriend Trixie.
