Rachel Weisz [Vice.] was born on 7th March 1971, in London, England, to Edith, an Austrian/Italian psychoanalyst and George, a Hungarian inventor. Her father invented a type of respirator that supplies it's own oxygen and another machine that can sense land mines. So of course Rachel Is of Hungarian (from her father's side) and Austrian (from mother's side) descent with a dash of Italian on her mum's side. She also has a younger sister named Minnie Weisz.

Rachel was a model by the time she was 14. Educated in grade school at the prestigious St Paul's Girls School in London. Shortly after she was offered a large part in the Richard Gere movie King David (1985) when she was only 14 years old. Her parents wouldn't let her do it at the time. She and began acting during her studies at Cambridge University. She was a radical feminist at University and a fearlessly brazen actress. While there, she formed a theater company named Talking Tongues, which won the Guardian Award, at the Edinburgh Festival, for its take on 'Neville Shouthall' 's "Washbag".Was in the same class as actress Emily Mortimer.

Rachel quickly went on to star on the stage in the lauded Sean Mathias revival of Noel Coward's "Design For Living." It was a role that won her a vote for Most Promising Newcomer by the London Critics' Circle. By 1998 she was named as one of European films' Shooting Stars by the European Film Promotion Board.

She got her big break in the film Stealing Beauty (1996) which not only features a smoldering young Rachal nude and playful with her husband in the Italian countryside. The film also stars Liv Tyler (aka Aerosmith daughter) as she visits relatives in Italy and is she's determined to lose her virginity. The Italian film heats up Rachels career and she is cast in a mainstream role with Keenu Reeves thriller Chain Reaction (1996). She gains a major american audience and quickly moves up to A list films beginning with The Mummy (1999), and Sunshine (1999) which american audeinces remember her most at first. Despite The Mummy Returns box office flop, Rachel found quality roles including underated film Enemy at the Gates (2001), and About a Boy (2002). Rachel can also be seen in the movies The Shape of Things (2003), Confidence (2003) Runaway Jury (2003) Constantine (2005).

Won an Oscar for her role in The Constant Gardener (2005) her extroverted maternal nude scenes were done while the 35 year old was in reality 5 months pregnant with her first son. The Constant Gardener (2005), turned out to be the film of year, she also won a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actor's Guild Award for Best Supporting Actress. I sometimes do worry that actors are people's role models, you know. And doctors and teachers and people doing really important things just get paid nothing. And they put us on the cover of magazines. They should be our heroes. I find it all a bit dubious.

I'm not one for parties and stuff like that. I get a bit nervous around lots of people. Being invisible is what I really enjoy. That I find quite entertaining.

I think mystery is kind of great. I don't know anything about Bette Davis or Katharine Hepburn or Ava Gardner - not really - and I like that. I love watching their movies because they're my personal movie stars. I don't know what they eat and who their trainer is.
